We accept referrals from social prescribers, adult social care, GP’s, community health practitioners, charities, friends, family members and self-referrals.

Our criteria for admission to the scheme are adults over 70 years who are living alone and within the Eastbourne area. 

A request to be assessed for suitability for our scheme should be made with the agreement of the person concerned. We regret that we may be unable to accept referrals where there are conditions that impact significantly on a person's ability to hold a conversation.

Befriending matches are made with volunteers of the same gender.
