Making a Referral
Referrals for anyone meeting our criteria are welcome,
regardless of faith, ethnicity, sexuality or any other characteristics.
Referrals from social prescribers, adult social care, GP’s, community health practitioners, charities, friends, family members and self-referrals can be made.
Our criteria for acceptance to the scheme are adults over 70 years who are living alone and within the Eastbourne area.
A referral to be assessed for suitability for our scheme should be made with the agreement of the person concerned.
We regret that we may be unable to accept referrals where there are conditions that impact significantly on a person's ability to hold a conversation.
Befriending matches are made with volunteers of the same gender.
We are closed to new female referrals while we manage our waiting list. We have current capacity for male referrals. Please contact us on our landline.
